A few words from his sister and brother, Margaret and David

Created by Glyn 5 years ago

Bob was our older brother.  He was always there for us.  Margaret said he was her safety net and living in close proximity she always felt safe.  Over the years he became her decorator, joiner, gardener and chauffeur.  Nothing was too much trouble for him.

David said growing up the youngest brother in a large family was a disadvantage.  He was never shown how to change a plug socket or tap washer.  Later in life being the youngest had its advantages.  He always had a plumber and an electrician at the end of a phone. Whenever David spoke to Bob on the phone they always called each other “son”.

Bob was always there to help and give advice and always available to help friends and family.  Over 40 years ago Bob helped David erect a garden fence and, thanks to him, it’s still up and straight.

Marion and Bob were always known for their New Year’s Day parties, which were open house to family and friends.  They were both gifted with hospitality.

Bob did many jobs for us and latterly we were given the opportunity to repay his kindness by taking him to hospital appointments etc. for which he was always grateful.

Bob was a real chatterbox and loved to talk about his family.  It was clear he loved them very much.

Only last week, someone said of him, he was a gem.  He was our gem and we will miss him.

You may be gone brother but you will never be forgotten.
